San Vito Lo Capo landowner reported for animal welfare violations

The owner of a property in San Vito Lo Capo has been reported to the judicial authorities in Trapani following the discovery of two horses kept in inadequate conditions. Carabinieri Forestali and veterinary personnel from the Asp di Trapani conducted an inspection of an agricultural plot after receiving a report regarding the animals.

Inspectors found that the horses lacked any sheltered area to protect them from direct sunlight. Additionally, the water supply was found to be limited, in poor hygienic condition, and constantly exposed to the sun.

Following the inspection, the animals were immediately transferred to a suitable facility. Health authorities have placed an official block on the specimens pending the results of medical samples. The owner faces charges for allegedly detaining animals in conditions incompatible with their nature and welfare requirements.
