San Ysidro border crossing opens exclusive motorcycle lane

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has implemented a new exclusive access lane for motorcycles at the San Ysidro international border crossing. The measure, which began operating on Tuesday, September 8, aims to improve traffic flow, increase operational efficiency, and maintain a more orderly movement of travelers entering the United States.

The dedicated lane is located near lane 15 and is scheduled to operate Monday through Friday, from 4:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Under the new system, motorcyclists must wait in a designated queue rather than attempting to enter through standard vehicle lanes or waiting for motorists to yield.

Upon reaching the initial checkpoint, CBP agents verify identification and migratory documents. Once cleared, motorcyclists are directed to join the queue behind existing vehicles at the available inspection booths. Authorities have urged all riders to follow signage and officer instructions to ensure safety and order at the port of entry.
