Sanaa fuel station worker killed during attempted theft

A fuel station worker, identified as Sami Abdulkhaliq Miftah, was killed in Sanaa after a driver attempted to flee a station without paying for fuel. The incident occurred at the Al-Dar station in the Dar Salm area.

According to local reports, the driver filled a Lexus with fuel worth 30,000 riyals and attempted to drive away without payment. When Miftah tried to stop the vehicle, he clung to the car as the driver sped away in a zigzagging manner. The driver eventually struck Miftah against an electric pole, causing severe injuries that led to his death.

Local citizens and motorcyclists pursued and apprehended the driver, subsequently handing him over to security authorities. The victim, described as a university graduate working at the station to earn a living, has sparked widespread public anger and calls for legal accountability amidst ongoing concerns regarding security and lawlessness in the region.
