Sanat Melikgazi to host Anatolian weaving exhibition

Sanat Melikgazi will host the ‘Carried Memory of Culture: Heybe Exhibition’ as part of the Türkiye Culture Route Festival from September 5 to 13. The exhibition features a rare collection of 80 pieces curated by Berna Özden, with items ranging from 70 to 120 years old.

The collection showcases the rich weaving heritage of Anatolia, spanning various regions including Çanakkale, Balıkesir, Manisa, Konya, Kayseri, and Sivas. The display includes dowry saddlebags, riding saddlebags, human saddlebags, and specialized children's saddlebags, highlighting their unique functional and aesthetic details.

Melikgazi Mayor Mustafa Palancıoğlu has invited the public to the official opening ceremony, scheduled for Monday, September 7, at 17:30.
