Sancaktepe opens three new child development centers

Sancaktepe Municipality has opened three new 'Yuvamız Sancaktepe' child development centers in the Emek, Yunus Emre, and Safa neighborhoods. The opening ceremony was attended by Sancaktepe Mayor Alper Yeğin and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) Deputy President Nuri Aslan.

With these new facilities, the number of child development centers operated by the Sancaktepe Municipality has increased to 17. Combined with 10 centers operated by the IBB, the total number of such centers in the district has reached 27. These centers aim to provide quality preschool education and support working mothers.

Mayor Yeğin noted that the district currently provides nursery services for approximately 2,800 children, out of an estimated 5,000 children in the nursery age group in Sancaktepe. He also highlighted significant investments in green spaces, stating that total park area in the district has increased from 250,000 square meters to 550,000 square meters over the last two and a half years.

Nuri Aslan stated that the 'Yuvamız İstanbul' centers serve as a strong social justice and family policy, noting that the IBB's centers have provided educational support to 27,058 children to date.
