Sanctuary of Fátima launches official certificate for walking pilgrims

The Sanctuary of Fátima has launched an official certificate for pilgrims who travel to the Marian shrine on foot. The initiative, announced by Rector Carlos Cabecinhas, aims to promote the practice of pilgrimage and recognize the various paths leading to Fátima.

The certificate was introduced during the international pilgrimage held on October 12 and 13, which marks the conclusion of the annual cycle of major anniversary pilgrimages. This specific event commemorates the final of the six apparitions of 1917 in Cova da Iria.

The October celebrations are presided over by the Archbishop of Braga, José Cordeiro. The program includes liturgical events such as the Eucharistic procession, the recitation of the Rosary at the Chapel of the Apparitions, and the traditional candlelit procession.
