Sanctuary of San Firmino to reopen for Mass in Pertusio
The Sanctuary of San Firmino in Pertusio is scheduled to reopen for a solemn Holy Mass on Sunday, October 11, 2026, marking a significant event for the local community. The site has been closed for precautionary reasons since 2018.
Technical investigations conducted by engineers have determined that the main part of the sanctuary can be used exceptionally without immediate structural consolidation. However, certain areas remain restricted for safety reasons, including the side entrance and the chapels of the Sacred Heart and Our Lady of Lourdes.
The reopening announcement was made during a public meeting involving clergy and technical experts, including representatives from the Archdiocese of Turin and the San Firmino Committee, which was established in 2023 to oversee maintenance and restoration projects.
