Sandbox VR to open new immersive venue in Melbourne

Sandbox VR is expanding its presence in Australia with the opening of a new venue in Melbourne’s Central Business District on Bourke Street. Scheduled to open on September 14, this location follows the company’s initial Australian site on the Gold Coast.

The Melbourne facility will include a bar, a party room, and four private rooms designed for groups of up to six people. The experience utilizes headsets, haptic vests, and motion sensors to provide full-body immersion, allowing players to interact physically within a virtual environment.

Bao Phung, the owner of Sandbox VR Melbourne and Gold Coast, noted that the expansion aims to provide an active alternative to traditional nightlife for families, friends, and corporate groups.
