Sandeep Lamichhane named Nepal's ODI captain

Sandeep Lamichhane has been appointed as the captain of Nepal’s One Day International (ODI) team for the upcoming ACC Men’s Premier Cup. The 26-year-old leg-spinner replaces Rohit Paudel, who led the team through a successful period including an 11-win streak in the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2.

Lamichhane, who has taken 154 wickets in 77 ODIs, previously captained the side in 14 matches before Paudel took over in 2022. He holds the distinction of being the fastest Nepalese bowler to reach 150 ODI wickets and the first player from Nepal to claim 100 T20I wickets.

The ACC Men’s Premier Cup is scheduled to take place in Malaysia from August 30 to September 12, featuring eight qualified teams including Nepal, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates.
