Sandeep Reddy Vanga suggests names for Warangal airport

Filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga has suggested names for the proposed international airport in his hometown of Warangal, Telangana. Vanga proposed ‘Rudrama International Airport’ or ‘Kakatiya International Airport’ to honor the region’s cultural legacy.

Following the suggestion, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy responded on social media with the phrase, “That’s the SPIRIT. . !!” Vanga noted the coincidence, pointing out that the phrase is a line written for his upcoming film, ‘Spirit’. While the exchange drew significant attention on social media, some users mocked Vanga for treating the common English expression as a unique cinematic reference.

The Telangana government has stated that the airport project is targeted for completion by June 2, 2028, with designs expected to reflect the Kakatiya heritage of the area.
