Sandhurst police seize electric motorbikes after dangerous riding reports

Police in Sandhurst have seized two electric motorbikes following reports of dangerous riding near Sandhurst Memorial Park. Officers responded to complaints regarding riders traveling at “ridiculous speeds” and carrying multiple passengers, including instances where four people were on a single bike without protective headgear.

Thames Valley Police stated that riders had also been giving young girls rides around the park. Following an investigation, officers located the bikes at the home of two brothers in the Sandhurst area. The vehicles were seized under Section 165 of the Road Traffic Act and will not be returned. Authorities clarified that while these electric motorbikes can be purchased legally, they cannot be ridden in public places or on public roads; they are only permitted on private land with the owner's permission.
