Sandisk reports record revenue driven by AI demand

Sandisk has reported record fiscal first quarter 2027 revenue of $11.031 billion, representing a 378% increase compared to the previous year. This growth was primarily driven by the surge in demand for storage solutions required for artificial intelligence and accelerated computing.

The company's datacenter division saw explosive growth, with revenues jumping 1685.1% year-over-year to $4.802 billion. The Edge segment also performed strongly, reaching $5.832 billion, a 320.5% increase. In contrast, the consumer division saw a 39.1% contraction.

Following these results, Sandisk announced an 8-for-1 stock split. The company also completed $5 billion in corporate share repurchases during the period. To meet future AI infrastructure needs, Sandisk is expanding its portfolio with products like the QLC Stargate platform and High Bandwidth Flash, while securing long-term agreements with major datacenter and edge customers.
