Sandmarc introduces 96mm telephoto lens for iPhone

Sandmarc has introduced a new 96mm telephoto lens designed to significantly extend the zoom capabilities of recent iPhone models. The accessory mounts over the existing tetraprism telephoto camera using a specialized case and screws into place.

For the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max, the lens provides a combination of optical and digital magnification that Sandmarc claims can reach a total of 32x zoom, equivalent to a 384mm focal length. On older supported models, such as the iPhone 16 Pro series and iPhone 15 Pro Max, the total zoom reaches up to 20x. While the attachment provides 4x physical optical magnification, the higher advertised zoom figures include digital enlargement.

The lens is designed for specialized photography such as wildlife, architecture, or portraits, but it is physically substantial. It weighs approximately 255 grams (9 ounces) and measures 8.9 centimeters in length, making the total weight of the setup nearly equal to the smartphone itself. The lens features optical glass with anti-reflective coatings to maximize light and reduce glare.
