Sandra Magano Gaspar named ‘Empreendedora 50+’ in Portugal

Ceramist Sandra Magano Gaspar has been named the ‘Empreendedora 50+ da Região Centro’ for 2026 by the Comissão de Coordenação e Desenvolvimento Regional do Centro (CCDR Centro). The award ceremony is scheduled for September 17 at Tagusvalley in Abrantes, followed by a visit to her workshop, Magano Ceramics.

Magano Gaspar operates a business focused on artisanal ceramic production, including wheel-thrown pottery and figurative ceramics, while also hosting educational workshops. The ‘Empreendedor 50+’ initiative, now in its seventh edition, aims to recognize inspiring life paths and encourage entrepreneurship among individuals over the age of 50 to combat age discrimination and promote active aging.

As part of the distinction, CCDR Centro will distribute 5,000 euros to local institutions with social and cultural impact. Based on the award winner's nomination, the Grupo de Teatro Palha de Abrantes will receive 4,000 euros, while the Orfeão de Abrantes will receive 1,000 euros.
