Sandra Ortega expands wealth as Inditex heiress

Sandra Ortega, the richest woman in Spain, continues to amass significant wealth despite maintaining an intensely private lifestyle in the town of Oleiros. As the second-largest shareholder of Inditex, the parent company of Zara, her 5.05 per cent stake is currently valued at approximately €8.5 billion ($13.7 billion).

Unlike her half-sister Marta, who serves as Inditex’s chairwoman, Sandra does not hold an active role in the fashion retailer’s operations. However, her wealth is expected to increase substantially upon the eventual passing of her father, Inditex founder Amancio Ortega. Under local laws, a significant portion of his estimated $127 billion estate will be distributed among his descendants, potentially granting Sandra a minimum of $10.6 billion in additional assets.
