Sandra Ortega maintains private life despite multi-billion euro Inditex stake
Sandra Ortega, daughter of Zara founder Amancio Ortega, remains one of the world's wealthiest women while maintaining a highly private lifestyle in Oleiros, Spain. She is the second-largest shareholder of Inditex, the parent company of Zara, holding a 5.05 percent stake valued at approximately 8.5 billion euros.
Her wealth primarily stems from the inheritance of her mother, Rosalía Mera, a key Inditex shareholder who passed away in 2013. Unlike her half-sister Marta Ortega, who serves as president of Inditex, Sandra does not hold an official position within the family's retail empire.
Sandra manages her assets through her family investment firm, Rosp (Rosp Corunna), which oversees more than 11 billion euros in assets. Last year, the firm reported a 2 percent profit increase to 307 million euros. Beyond Inditex, Rosp's portfolio includes a 5 percent stake in the Spanish pharmaceutical company PharmaMar, various venture capital and private equity funds, and luxury hotels worldwide.
