Sandra Ortiz testifies on ties to late businessman Aguilar

Former presidential advisor Sandra Ortiz has testified before the Supreme Court of Justice regarding her relationship with the late emerald businessman Juan Sebastián Aguilar, known as ‘Pedro Pechuga’. Ortiz, who is being processed in connection with the UNGRD corruption scandal, admitted to a romantic relationship with Aguilar.

Ortiz stated that Aguilar met with President Gustavo Petro, various magistrates, congressmen, governors, and presidential candidates. Official records from the Casa de Nariño confirm that Aguilar visited the presidential headquarters on multiple occasions during 2023, including June 5 and October 12.

Aguilar was killed on August 7, 2024, by a sniper at his residence in northern Bogotá. The alleged perpetrator has been identified as an individual known as ‘Caracas’, reportedly a member of a guerrilla structure.
