Sandringham Water Tower opened for luxury stays
King Charles III has opened the historic Water Tower at the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, England, to overnight guests for the first time since its construction in 1877. Following an extensive restoration, the neo-Byzantine structure has been transformed into a luxury retreat designed specifically for couples.
Originally designed by engineer James Mansergh to provide clean drinking water to the royal residence following a typhoid outbreak involving King Edward VII and Prince Albert Victor, the tower now features modern amenities. The accommodation includes a king-size bed, a private kitchen, a dining area, and a bathroom, alongside a terrace offering 360-degree views of the Norfolk countryside.
Booking rates vary by season, with weekly rentals reported between £1,500 and £2,395. The Sandringham Estate also offers other lodging options, such as ‘The Folly’ and ‘Gardens House’.
