Sandro Brotz to join Blick from SRF in 2027

Journalist Sandro Brotz will leave the Swiss public broadcaster SRF to join Blick in early 2027. Brotz, known for moderating the political program ‘Arena’, will become a permanent member of the Blick newsroom.

In his new role, Brotz will launch a multimedia video podcast designed to analyze topics in politics, economy, and society. The format will be distributed across Blick’s channels as well as various podcast, social media, and video platforms. Brotz noted that the move allows him to focus on relevance and contextualization, particularly ahead of the 2027 Swiss federal elections.

Brotz is expected to continue moderating ‘Arena’ until mid-January. His career includes significant roles at SonntagsBlick, Radio 1, and SRF, where he also moderated ‘Rundschau’. Blick Editor-in-Chief Rolf Cavalli described the move as a strategic step in the outlet’s cross-media strategy.
