Hannover 96 dismisses head coach Christian Titz

Hannover 96 has relieved head coach Christian Titz and assistant coach André Kilian of their duties following a poor start to the 2. Bundesliga season. The decision follows a 1:2 defeat against 1. FC Nürnberg, leaving the club in 15th place with only four points from five matches.

Sporting Director Jonas Boldt stated that the club lacked the necessary stability and consistency to meet their goals. The dismissal follows reports of internal tensions regarding transfer policy and squad management. U23 coach Lars Barlemann will serve as interim manager for the upcoming match against VfL Bochum.

Sandro Wagner, a former German international and assistant coach for the national team, is reportedly the frontrunner to succeed Titz and is currently in negotiations with the club.
