Sandy Schumacher Memorial Tournament volleyball matches begin

The 13th annual Sandy Schumacher Memorial Tournament commenced at the Sonnentag Event Center with opening matches in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire secured a 3-0 sweep against Edgewood University, winning sets 25-16, 25-14, and 25-12. The Blugolds recorded 37 kills and 11 blocks, improving their overall record to 3-1. Mya Cinnamo led the team with nine kills.

In another tournament match, Coe College defeated St. Catherine University in five sets, with a final score of 15-9 in the decisive fifth set. Despite losing the first and fourth sets, the Kohawks rallied to win the match. Lexi Hammer recorded a career-high 51 assists during the victory.
