Sandy Springs teen charged with murder after fatal apartment shooting
A 17-year-old has been arrested and charged with murder following the death of 25-year-old Williams Lopez Rodriguez in Sandy Springs, Georgia.
On August 28, police responded to a welfare check requested by Rodriguez’s family at The Celebration at Sandy Springs Apartments. Officers discovered Rodriguez dead from an apparent gunshot wound to the head. Detectives identified Christopher Castillo as the suspect, noting he had left the scene prior to the arrival of law enforcement.
Castillo was taken into custody the following day by Cobb County police during a traffic stop near Barrett Parkway and Mall Boulevard. He faces charges of murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. The investigation into the homicide is ongoing.
