Sandy Walsh returns to Persib Bandung training after injury

Persib Bandung defender Sandy Walsh has returned to team training following a recovery period for injuries to his thigh and knee. The 31-year-old player, who has been sidelined since July 2026 due to injuries sustained while playing for the Indonesian national team, reported that his condition is improving steadily.

Walsh has transitioned from individual training to participating in sessions with his teammates at the Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium. He noted that while the recovery process faced initial obstacles, he is now able to wear football boots and is making progress daily through physiotherapy and a structured recovery program.

His return comes at a critical time for Persib Bandung, which faces a dense schedule involving the Super League, the AFC Champions League Two, and the Shopee Cup. Walsh, a former winner of the Shopee Cup with Buriram United, expressed enthusiasm for the Southeast Asian competition and the opportunity to compete against regional clubs of similar levels.
