Sang Won Kim goes viral with Spanish version of PSY's Gangnam Style

South Korean content creator Sang Won Kim has gone viral on social media for performing a Spanish-language adaptation of PSY’s 2012 hit “Gangnam Style”. Known on platforms like Instagram and TikTok as @holayosoysang and @yosoysangg, Kim translated the lyrics to explain the song's original meaning to Spanish-speaking audiences.

The video, which has garnered millions of views and hundreds of thousands of likes, uses the translation to clarify specific Korean terms, such as “oppa,” which refers to an older brother or a close older male. Kim, who also produces content focused on teaching the Korean language, maintained the original rhythm and structure of the track while adapting expressions for Spanish speakers.

“Gangnam Style” was a global phenomenon upon its release, becoming the first YouTube video to reach one billion views.
