Sanghyeon Library completes first English picture book project

Sanghyeon Library in Yongin Special City has concluded the first phase of its ‘Mother’s English Picture Book Project’. The initiative trained 16 citizen reading activists to provide reading and emotional support to children at local welfare facilities.

Following a training period from March to April, the activists conducted 16 sessions at the LH Happiness Dream Center Gwanggyo Village Local Children's Center between April and August. A total of 264 children participated in the program, engaging in English picture book readings and related activities designed to foster a natural interest in reading and the English language.

The library plans to continue talent donation programs for children using the library and will begin recruiting participants for the second phase of the project in March next year.
