Sangineto launches 'La Cascata che Incanta' tourism project for Vuglio Waterfall
The Comune di Sangineto, through its Tourism Department, is initiating the project “La Cascata che Incanta – Sangineto e la Cascata del Vuglio: Natura, Sostenibilità e Turismo oltre l’estate,” set to start on Thursday, 30 July 2026. The programme, co‑financed by the Regione Calabria under the public call “La Calabria che Incanta” and funded with PAC 2014‑2020 resources, will run four scheduled events on 30 July, 19 August, 12 September and 23 October.
Each event will feature nature excursions along the Vuglio River, theatrical animation, storytelling, music, educational workshops, activities for children and families, and sessions devoted to environmental sustainability. The central attraction is the Cascata del Vuglio, a Mediterranean‑vegetated waterfall considered one of the most scenic spots on Calabria’s Tyrrhenian coast.
Mayor Michele Guardia highlighted that regional support “allows us to valorise one of the territory’s most precious environmental assets,” while Tourism Assessor Maria Rosa Midaglia said the initiative aims to turn the waterfall into a year‑round cultural and natural landmark, extending Sangineto’s appeal beyond the summer season.
