Sani Becirovic reveals Panathinaikos missed chance to sign Jean Montero

Former Panathinaikos Technical Director Sani Becirovic has revealed that the club had the opportunity to sign Dominican guard Jean Montero but ultimately decided against it.

Speaking in an interview with Arena Sport TV, Becirovic explained that the search for a replacement occurred during his first year at the club following an injury to Luka Vildoza. While an agent proposed Montero as a prospect for the future, Becirovic admitted that neither he nor the coach had the courage to convince the club president to invest in the player at that time.

Becirovic noted that the club was focused on immediate results to return Panathinaikos to its former glory, making it a delicate situation for a new management team. Since then, Montero has developed into a prominent figure in European basketball, eventually moving to Olympiacos.
