Sanitary authorities implement poultry and meat processing controls

In Entre Ríos, Argentina, the National Service for Agri-Food Health and Quality (SENASA) has partnered with public and private sector representatives to unify inspection criteria. The initiative aims to prevent the entry and spread of avian pathologies within production sites and the broader region. Currently, the province has 2,353 SENASA-authorized poultry registrations across 16 departments, with 64% concentrated in Concepción del Uruguay, Paraná, and Colón. So far in 2026, 1,347 inspections have been conducted, 81% of which focused on poultry meat production, targeting biosecurity conditions and facility maintenance.

In Mexico, the State Commission for Protection against Sanitary Risks (COESPRIS) provided training to municipal slaughterhouse personnel and regional workers. The training focused on livestock legality, good manufacturing practices, animal welfare, and the current situation regarding cattle screwworm. Topics also included human tuberculosis and facility hygiene to ensure meat quality and sanitary safety for consumers.
