Sanitary concerns reported at schools in Mendoza, Argentina
Educational institutions in the Mendoza province have addressed sanitary concerns raised by students and parents. In Tudcum, located in Iglesia, the Ricardo Güiraldes school faced alarm following social media reports of alleged rodent excrement found during cleaning. School authorities met with parents to clarify that no active pests had been sighted and that the building maintains strict hygiene protocols. As a precaution, the Ministry of Education coordinated fumigation and sanitization services, though classes continue as scheduled.
In Guaymallén, the Provincia de Córdoba school reported the presence of scorpions within the building. After students shared photos of the arachnids, the General Directorate of Schools (DGE) confirmed that a preventive fumigation had been conducted a month prior, and a follow-up disinfection operation was carried out this past Monday. Health specialists noted that while certain species like the Tityus genus pose significant risks, particularly to children, the situation is being managed through official protocols.
