Sanja Božinovska joins European climate leadership network

North Macedonia's Minister of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources, Sanja Božinovska, has been invited to join the Steering Committee of a new European network for women leaders in the public sector addressing climate issues.

The inaugural meeting and first leadership dialogue are scheduled to take place in Brussels on October 14, 2026. The invitation was extended by Silvana Koch-Mehrin, president and founder of Women Political Leaders (WPL). The initiative is held under the patronage of Princess Marie-Astrid of Belgium and is developed in partnership with the Women Leaders for Climate network of the European Investment Bank Group.

Božinovska's participation aims to integrate Macedonian experiences and priorities regarding energy transition, supply diversification, renewable energy sources, and regional energy cooperation into European climate discussions. The network seeks to connect female decision-makers with private sector expertise and financial instruments to accelerate climate and infrastructure priorities, focusing on clean energy and infrastructure resilience.
