Sanjay Ghadi defends inclusive participation in Garba

Mumbai Deputy Mayor Sanjay Ghadi has addressed recent debates regarding the Garba dance, stating that people from all communities, including Muslims, have participated in the tradition for many years. He argued against viewing the festival through a religious lens and criticized the mindset of excluding specific castes or communities.

Ghadi also commented on the controversy surrounding Vande Mataram, expressing support for the singing of the national song and questioning political objections to it. Additionally, he addressed the importance of the Marathi language in Maharashtra, specifically responding to comments made by actor Sanjay Dutt. Ghadi emphasized that residents and artists living in the state should learn Marathi, noting existing regulations for transport workers and initiatives by the Shiv Sena to promote language learning.
