Sanjay Mishra wins National Film Award for ‘Bhakshak’

Actor Sanjay Mishra has won the Best Supporting Actor award at the 72nd National Film Awards for his performance as Bhaskar Sinha in the 2024 crime drama ‘Bhakshak’. The award was presented by President Droupadi Murmu.

In a historic move, the ceremony was held in Ekta Nagar, Gujarat, marking the first time the National Film Awards have been hosted outside of New Delhi. Mishra, a veteran with over three decades in the film industry, expressed deep emotion regarding the honor, noting that he learned of his selection through the Press Information Bureau, where his late father once worked.

‘Bhakshak’, directed by Pulkit and produced by Red Chillies Entertainment, follows an investigative journalist played by Bhumi Pednekar. Mishra noted that his collaborations with Pednekar have consistently brought him professional appreciation.
