Sanjay Seth emphasizes jointness and technology for India's security

India’s Minister of State for Defence, Sanjay Seth, has emphasized the necessity of increased jointness among the Army, Navy, and Air Force to address evolving security challenges. Speaking at the second annual ‘Trident Lecture’ organized by the Centre for Joint Warfare Studies (CENJOWS) in New Delhi, Seth highlighted the importance of closer civil-military coordination and the rapid adoption of emerging technologies.

Seth noted that India is shifting its focus from ‘Make in India’ to ‘Make for the World,’ aiming to transition from import dependence to becoming a global exporter of competitive defence technologies. He stressed the role of domestic micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in building strategic capabilities in sectors such as semiconductors and electronics.

The event, themed ‘National Resurgence through the Lens of Defence Forces,’ featured discussions on multi-domain operations, civil-military fusion, and the role of the armed forces in nation-building. The lecture brought together senior military leadership and experts to deliberate on maintaining technological superiority and innovation in future warfare.
