Actor Sanjjanaa Galrani has publicly defended Trisha Krishnan following online backlash and political criticism regarding her appearance at Tamil Nadu’s official Independence Day 2026 celebrations. The controversy arose after Trisha attended the event at Fort St George, where she was seated in the front row alongside Chief Minister Vijay’s family and exchanged ceremonial greetings during the parade.

Criticism was amplified by Murasoli, the official mouthpiece of the ruling DMK party, which published an editorial questioning the protocol of Trisha’s seating arrangement. In response to the trolling, Galrani urged critics to focus on professional political evaluation rather than personal attacks against women. She stated, “If you have the guts, then talk professionally about Thalapathy Vijay. Talk about his governance. Why are you talking about a woman?”

Galrani further defended Chief Minister Vijay’s administration, praising his efficiency and rapid response to local issues such as infrastructure and social schemes. She argued that personal life scrutiny is being used to divert attention from his political performance.
