Abhishek Sharma hits record century as India sweeps Afghanistan 3-0

India secured a 3-0 T20I series whitewash against Afghanistan with a 127-run victory in the third match at Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. The match was headlined by Abhishek Sharma, who scored 108 runs off just 34 balls. His performance included 11 sixes and 9 fours, setting a new record for the fastest century by a player from an ICC Full Member nation, reaching the milestone in 30 balls.

India posted a total of 221 for seven, supported by Sanju Samson, who reached the 9,000 T20 run milestone during his 50-run innings. In response, Afghanistan was bowled out for 94 in 14.1 overs. Nitish Kumar Reddy and Ravi Bishnoi each claimed three wickets to dismantle the Afghan batting lineup.

Following the match, Indian captain Shreyas Iyer demonstrated sportsmanship by inviting Afghanistan captain Ibrahim Zadran to join the team for the trophy celebration and group photograph. Afghanistan head coach Richard Pybus noted that the team has significant work to do following the series loss.
