Sanju Samson’s T20I slump persists after low scores against England and Ireland

India’s wicket‑keeper‑batter Sanju Samson continued his recent run of low scores in T20 Internationals, managing five and zero against Ireland and just one run in the first T20I against England on July 1. The match in Durham ended without a result after rain halted England’s chase of India’s 189/7.

Former India players Saba Karim and Irfan Pathan analysed the dismissals, noting Samson’s early‑ball vulnerability, a closed bat face and difficulty handling short‑pitched deliveries. Both commentators expressed confidence that Samson can recover and produce a big knock in future matches.

Other Indian batsmen steadied the innings, with Abhishek Sharma scoring 59 off 24 balls, Shreyas Iyer 68 off 47 and Shivam Dube 42* off 21, helping India post a respectable total despite Samson’s struggles.
