Sankalp Amonkar to join Goa cabinet

Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar is scheduled to be sworn in as a cabinet minister in the Goa government led by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant. The ceremony is set for Saturday, November 7, at Zuari Hall, Lok Bhavan, in Dona Paula.

Amonkar's induction fills a ministerial vacancy created by the death of former agriculture minister and two-time chief minister Ravi Naik in October 2025. Amonkar, who originally won his seat as a Congress candidate in the 2022 elections, joined the BJP along with seven other Congress MLAs in 2022. He previously served as the chairman of the Sewerage and Infrastructural Development Corporation of Goa Limited.
