Sankt Augustin police seek suspects in Aldi Süd stroller theft
Police in Sankt Augustin, Germany, are searching for a man and a woman suspected of using a stroller to facilitate a shoplifting incident at an Aldi Süd supermarket. The theft occurred in early June 2026 at the store located on Einsteinstraße.
According to investigators, the suspects used a stroller containing an oversized child—estimated to be around nine to fifteen years old—to conceal stolen food and clothing valued at approximately 300 euros. The presence of the child was intended to obstruct the view of the stolen goods. The group was noticed by a cashier when they bypassed the store's exit barrier and left without paying.
The male suspect is described as being between 40 and 55 years old, with dark hair, a beard, and a build between 1.70 and 1.85 meters tall. He was seen wearing a grey cap with a green brim featuring a 'Paris' inscription and Eiffel Tower design, sunglasses, a white shirt, dark trousers, and white sneakers. The female accomplice is described as slim with black hair.
