Sanlorenzo backs minority stake in Polo Nautico Carrara to acquire The Italian Sea Group
Sanlorenzo announced that it will participate with a minority share in the capital of Polo Nautico Carrara (PNC), a company being created to acquire the entire business of The Italian Sea Group (TISG). Executive Chairman Massimo Perotti said the move aims to protect local jobs, preserve strategic shipbuilding skills and ensure continuity of production in the Carrara area. The offer, presented to TISG and the court‑appointed commissioners in Florence, covers the full TISG complex free of debt or credit, with ongoing contracts subject to direct negotiations with ship owners. Sanlorenzo will provide a patronage letter guaranteeing up to 10% of the purchase price as part of the competitive procedure. PNC’s capital structure foresees 10% owned by a new Italian society formed by Riccardo Cima and selected suppliers, while the remaining 90% is expected to come from two or three international shipyards that are in advanced talks. Completion of the transaction depends on satisfactory due‑diligence results, the launch of a competitive sale process and fulfilment of other stipulated conditions.
