Sanna Hill quits Swedish far‑right after 18 years, citing misogyny
Sanna Hill, a 34‑year‑old former activist in Sweden’s nationalist movement, announced she is leaving the far‑right after 18 years of involvement. She said the movement’s obsession with controlling women and promoting “white sharia” – a doctrine that forces women to stay at home and bear children for a white nation – forced her to quit.
Hill, who was once a member of the Nationaldemokraterna (ND) and a youth activist for the Sweden Democrats’ youth wing, moved with her five‑year‑old son from a protected residence to a new apartment, noting the irony of the address number not being the extremist code 1488. She described personal experiences of misogynistic threats and violence within the extremist circles and warned that the movement mirrors Islamist groups in its treatment of women.
Her departure highlights internal criticism of Sweden’s far‑right and may fuel broader public debate on gender‑based hate within extremist politics.
