Sanne de Hoop wins Dutch qualification for European Championship

Sanne de Hoop has secured the final Dutch ticket for the individual European Championship in Ljubljana. She won the internal qualification tournament on August 30, defeating Tanja Helle 3-0 in the final with scores of 11-8, 11-5, and 11-6.

In the women's European Championship 2026 held in Czechia, Greece advanced to the quarterfinals after an upset victory against France. Despite France being ranked 14th in the FIVB World Ranking compared to Greece's 27th, Greece won the match 3-0 (25-16, 25-18, 25-20). Martha Anthouli scored 20 points for Greece.

In another matchup, Serbia faced Croatia. While Serbia entered as the higher-ranked team, the opening set saw Croatia lead 14-8 before Serbia eventually took control.
