Sanne Wevers targets European Championship beam final

Dutch gymnast Sanne Wevers is aiming for a balance beam final at the European Championships in Zagreb. A potential appearance in the final on August 15 marks a significant anniversary, as it is exactly ten years since she won Olympic gold in Rio de Janeiro.

Wevers, 34, is making her international comeback following the 2024 Paris Olympics. After returning to national competition in June and qualifying for the European Championships in July, she states her training level is comparable to her successful 2023 comeback in Antalya, where she won gold on the balance beam. While acknowledging the sentimental value of the date, Wevers expressed her intention to remain focused on the competition and enjoy the event.
