Sanofi Anagni site reaches 90 countries with 80% of production
Valentino Valentini, the Deputy Minister for Enterprises and Made in Italy, has highlighted the Sanofi production site in Anagni as a center of excellence within the European pharmaceutical hub of Lazio. He noted that 80% of the production from the Anagni site reaches 90 different countries, reflecting the broader sector where export accounts for 75% of a 75 billion euro turnover.
During an event focused on innovation and sustainability, Valentini emphasized the need for legislative continuity and government support to assist companies with ongoing investments. He mentioned that the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (Mimit) has provided 25 million euros over three years to support constant innovation.
Valentini also addressed the intense global competition, particularly from the United States, stressing the importance of regulatory stability regarding authorizations. He noted the necessity of balancing drug costs for hospitals and the public with the need for companies to maintain investment capabilities, particularly in environmentally compatible and energy-efficient production processes.
