Sanok Mayor Tomasz Matuszewski suspended over corruption charges

The investigation concerns an incident alleged to have occurred on January 9, 2025, in which Matuszewski reportedly offered a bribe to a city councilor.

The alleged bribe was intended to secure the councilor's employment in a municipal company in exchange for support in council votes and assistance in recruiting another councilor to vote in alignment with the mayor's interests. Matuszewski has denied the charges and announced his intention to appeal the suspension in court, stating that the decision is not a verdict and that the truth must be established through evidence.
