Sanremo 2027 Festival Announces Lineup, Format Changes and European Tour
Stefano De Martino will host and direct the 2027 edition of the Sanremo Festival, which is scheduled for 16‑20 February 2027 at the Teatro Ariston. The contest will drop the traditional “Nuove Proposte” category, cut the number of participants to roughly 24, and may feature a Eurovision‑themed night and a roster of international guests.
A provisional list of 38 possible big‑artist entries has been published, with names such as Emma, Madame, Elodie, Mahmood, Al Bano, Arisa and the duo Jalisse circulating as favourites. Organisers have received about 500 song submissions, indicating strong interest from artists and record companies.
Following the festival, the government‑backed “Italia 2027” project will send the Sanremo winner to a series of concerts in major European capitals – Paris (Accor Arena within 48 hours of the final), Madrid, Munich and London – as part of a broader effort to promote Italian music abroad. The initiative is coordinated by the Ministry of Tourism and involves Ministers Gianmarco Mazzi and Antonio Tajani.
