Sanremo launches new talent search pathways for 2026

Registrations have opened for Area Sanremo 2026, a musical competition organized by the Sanremo Symphony Orchestra Foundation and the Municipality of Sanremo to promote emerging Italian musical talent.

This edition introduces a renewed vision under artistic director Stefano De Martino, aligning the competition with the upcoming Sanremo Festival. For the first time, Area Sanremo and the Sanremo Giovani competition will launch simultaneously, creating two distinct paths that will converge during the final selection stages.

Sanremo Giovani serves as a competitive springboard for artists under 35 who have not previously won a Sanremo category. Winners of this division receive a direct entry into the main Ariston stage, bypassing preliminary phases. Unlike the main festival, which hosts between 20 and 30 established artists, the youth category is more restrictive, typically admitting only 4 to 6 finalists selected through digital auditions and live jury evaluations.
