Sanremo partners with Politecnico di Milano for urban redesign

The Municipality of Sanremo has launched a three-year collaboration with the Department of Architecture and Urban Studies at Politecnico di Milano to create an urban design laboratory. The initiative aims to develop visions and scenarios for the future of the city rather than executive projects.

As a first step, 35 final-year architecture students, supported by five professors and tutors, will spend one semester working on seven strategic areas of Sanremo. These locations include Piazza Colombo, the former slaughterhouse, the old station, and decommissioned greenhouses. The agreement, approved by the Mager administration, currently carries no economic burden for the municipality, though specific implementation agreements for individual objectives may be signed in the future.
