Sanremo seeks agreement between hotels and merchants to boost tourism
The Tourism Table of the Municipality of Sanremo is planning meetings with merchant associations to develop a new strategy for the upcoming tourist season. The goal is to increase the city's attractiveness to tourists while addressing the needs of local residents.
One proposal under consideration is the potential evening opening of all shops in the city center. This move aims to adapt to changing traveler habits, partly driven by rising temperatures that have recently pushed tourists toward mountain destinations instead of seaside locations. Recent data from the ‘Saldi di Gioia’ weekend showed that retail foot traffic increased significantly after 5:30 PM when temperatures dropped. While retailers are seeking these adjustments, the luxury hotel sector has reported satisfaction with current results and remains optimistic for September.
