Ichiro Suzuki leads Kobe Chiben to victory in women's baseball exhibition

On September 13, the sixth annual exhibition match between the Kobe Chiben select team, led by Ichiro Suzuki, and a high school girls' baseball select team was held at the Tokyo Dome. Ichiro, serving as both pitcher and leadoff hitter, delivered a dominant performance, pitching nine full innings with 127 pitches, allowing only five hits and recording 17 strikeouts to complete a shutout. The Kobe Chiben team won the match 7-0.

Other baseball legends participated in the event. Hideki Matsui played third base, recording two hits and one RBI, while Kazuo Matsui also joined the select team. The girls' select team showed notable individual talent, including Rin Fukuda, who recorded three hits against Ichiro, and Yuna Yamato, who pitched a scoreless first inning.

Prior to the main event, the Sanrio Baseball Academy in Tokyo hosted a clinic for 58 elementary school girls. The academy featured instruction from Hideki Matsui, Kazuo Matsui, Yoshinobu Takahashi, and Ryota Igarashi, aimed at promoting the development and recognition of women's baseball.
