Sanseito and Inochi no To face political controversy in Japan

Political movements in Japan are facing intense scrutiny following leadership changes and allegations of misconduct. The Sanseito party has come under fire for its reliance on conspiracy theories, anti-vaccine rhetoric, and spiritualist seminars. Critics allege that party leader Sohei Kamiya maintains a dictatorial leadership style despite the party's claims of a bottom-up, participatory structure. Furthermore, concerns have been raised regarding the financial flow of seminar fees to companies linked to the leader's family.

Simultaneously, the party formerly known as Reiwa Shinsengumi, now rebranded as Inochi no To, is embroiled in controversy. A group of former members and secretaries, calling themselves ‘Yamere-kai’, has launched a campaign against the new leadership led by George Yamamoto. The group has raised allegations regarding the misappropriation of secretary salaries and potential violations of the Public Offices Election Act. Some former members have already provided information to investigative authorities and filed criminal complaints, asserting that despite the name change, the internal organizational issues remain unresolved.
